Over three decades, Janice built a stellar track record for innovation and performance excellence as a senior human resources executive with global food powerhouse McCain Foods, retail icon Canadian Tire and resource leader Suncor Energy. Her work in developing organizational systems and leadership capability has produced significant operational, cultural and reputational improvements and has been recognized by her peers as one of Canada’s 100 most powerful women.
Janice was among those named by Canadian Business magazine as “Most Innovative Executive” and “Best Managers in Canada”. The leadership training program she co-developed with former CEO Dale Morrison at McCain Foods is profiled in Higher Ambition: How Great Leaders Create Economic and Social Value, published by the Harvard Business Review Press, 2011.
Janice is Vice-Chair of the National Advisory Board for the Salvation Army. She holds a Master of Science degree in Organization Development from Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from the University of Calgary’s Personnel Management Program.
Janice and Jim Barton live on Maple Tree Farm in Ancaster, Ontario and produce maple syrup as a hobby.
